Vietnam veteran ready to commit to the national level
“I grew up on a farm with a practical and common-sense approach to many things,” said Indiana state Rep. Jim Baird.
Baird, who is currently the representative for the 44th district, is ready to make the jump to the national level. Baird was drafted into the Vietnam War after he completed his master’s degree at Purdue and was about to start his doctorate at the University of Kentucky — something that he said instilled the value of commitment in him.
“That’s where I learned commitment, and how important it is to at least solidify my commitment to this country,” Baird said.
